I had the pleasure of meeting Carly and her mom today! Carly came into the studio for a new Headshot. After taking a few images and looking over them on the computer Carly's mom made the comment that this would maybe be the new Grad photo too - the ones from the school didn't turn out so well and I'm not going to say too much more on that ... ok maybe just a little more... School Grad photos are more about QUANTITY rather than QUALITY! 100 students or more will sit for the photographer in a day. This photographer has a method or pre-determined posing structure geared toward the average student/person which may work for most of the students but what happens when the student doesn't fit into the pre-determined posing structure? Cap and Gown pics are ok for the school year book but this is the turning point in a teenagers life and who wants to remember what they looked like in a cap and gown?
This is Carly - being strong, being beautiful and being unique!
.... It pleases me very much to hear that my studio is wheel chair friendly! - Thanks Carly

The oh so lovely Katelyn
Now that the weather is warm and the sun is shinning and the spring flowers are out - ok so this is stretching a bit! - I have been scouting new locations for photo sessions. This was a great location and I couldn't have asked for better lighting or a more lovely model! Here are some of my favourites from this "Seniors" session - and no I don't mean elderly ;)

Boys, hockey and the junk yard!
In the last few weeks Sam has been helping me scout new locations to photograph in. He is a great helper because he really doesn't listen to me at all and just does his own thing - I get what I get with him! He is a wiggly boy, all over the place especially when he has to go pee which in most cases causes him to be wiggly, so I am finding out. Montreal Canadians is his Dad's favorite hockey team which is why the jersey! I figure this is a good time to post some of these photos hopefully to send positive energy to those Habs!

It's Bar/Bat Mitzvah Time!
According to Jewish law, when Jewish children reach the 13 years for boys and 12 for girls they become responsible for their actions, and "become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah" (English: Son (Bar) or Daughter (Bat) of the commandments) - This is from Wikipedia. I've been photographing Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for a few years now and I've really come to enjoy them partly because I've come to know so many of the families and the kids, scratch that out, YOUNG ADULTS and they are GREAT! This is such an amazing time for these YAs that it is a real honor for me to be part of it. That and I'm not so up-tight of a photographer now - just my own personal insecurities :). So here are a few images of Jenna's Bat Mitzvah photographed on the weekend. Jenna is daughter number two and just as much fun was had at this party as was had at her big sister Marlee's! Mazal Tov Jenna - enjoy these sneak peeks ♥
